What is Theranostics?
Theranostics, or "therapy" + "diagnostics", is simply finding and treating disease at the same time, often using the same medicine to spot the disease and then target it for treatment. This medical approach is precise, personalized, and targeted—treating what can be seen.
PLUVICTO® Therapy
At East River Medical Imaging's Molecular Imaging & Theranostics Suite, patients with advanced, metastatic prostate cancer can receive molecular targeted radiation therapy called PLUVICTO®, or lutetitum Lu-177 vipivotide tetraxetan. This FDA approved cancer treatment uses a radiopharmaceutical drug to seek out and attach to cancer cells, deliver radiation directly to them, and kill cancer cells while limiting damage to healthy tissue.
Is PLUVICTO® Therapy Right For You?
You may be eligible for PLUVICTO® therapy if the following applies to you:
- You are an adult (> 18 years old) with metastatic castration-resistant prostate cancer (mCRPC).
- You have had a prostate-specific membrane antigen (PSMA)-positive PET scan.
- You have previously had at least 1 androgen (hormone) therapy.
- You have or have not undergone chemotherapy.

Why Choose East River Medical Imaging for Therapy?
East River Medical Imaging has a long history of diagnostic imaging excellence, including early introduction of advanced MRI and PSMA PET/CT exams for prostate cancer in the outpatient setting. East River Imaging has continued its leadership position with the installation of the first GE StarGuide SPECT/CT scanner in the tri-state area.
This state-of-the-art machine provides more precise images offering patients and our doctors a clear picture of disease spread to tailor each patient's therapy. Many PLUVICTO® treatment centers are unable to provide regular imaging to clearly visualize the progress and success of therapy during treatment. At East River Medical Imaging, you can get a glimpse after every appointment.
