Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) uses a powerful magnetic field, radio waves and a computer to produce detailed pictures of the body’s internal structures that are clearer, more detailed and more likely in some instances to identify and accurately characterize disease than other imaging methods.

East River Medical Imaging offers the latest in MRI technology including:

• High field strength extremity MRI

We have experienced radiologists and technicians to optimize the MRI scanning parameters to provide superior diagnostic images.

East River is ACR Accredited to perform MRI studies. Our five GE1.5T and our two GE 3T MRI scanners have multiple dedicated coils that allow us to obtain the highest quality images available.

Some procedures can be performed in our high field strength extremity MRI.  This allows a majority of the patient’s body to remain outside the MRI while the study is performed.

We also perform studies in an Open MRI machine – perfect for claustrophobic or larger patients.
